Dr Max's hospitality industry secret about Bank of America

Bank of America celebrates its 70th anniversary during the year 2000. Bank of America has in excess of 90,000 employees and is the US's 3rd largest banking company behind Chase Manhattan and Citicorp. One in every three U.S. households banks with Bank of America. It offers financial services throughout the US and 37 other countries. ( WOW - If we can just get a few of these people into our places to celebrate for a day, week or month….!)

In 1904 A. P. Giannini, the son of Italian immigrants, founded the Bank of Italy in San Francisco. He and his Bank survived the San Francisco earthquake 1906. The bank reopened almost immediately after this tragedy and helped finance the rebuilding of San Francisco.

In 1921 Giannini acquired the Los Angeles based Bank of America. He had a vision for nationwide banking and in 1928 he formed Transamerica Corp. as a holding company for his banks and other businesses. In 1930 Bank of Italy and Bank of America began operating as Bank of America (BofA).
