“A Northern Territory Club has an ingenious idea on how to get your Mother In Law off your back – take her to dinner” trumpeted the prominent story in the Northern Territory News newspaper.

“Tracy Village Social Club’s Promotions Manager, Teena Gilbert, said the Club decided to start the official Mother In Law’s Day next Friday, the 5th of March,” the newspaper story continued. A picture accompanied the story showing a Mother-In-Law holding a rolling pin above the head of her Son In Law.

When I wrote suggesting Mother In Law Day could get you free media several weeks ago John Quinlan, the Manager of the Tracy Village in Darwin, Australia wrote to me saying “Thanks for the idea, Max. We’ll try it at our Club.”
