Take Time To Think - in 2004

“Thinking and listening is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason so few people engage in it!” Henry Ford once said.

This thought, some years ago, prompted me to develop my “Four T Principle” (Take Time To Think). I decided to, daily, give myself (or more correctly force myself) to allocate at least ten minutes, in a quite place, to do nothing else but ‘think’. I focused on the challenges (problems) for that day. I developed a habit of writing down the problems. And immediately underneath I’d write the word ‘SOLUTION’...and then THINK about it...and write notes.

Over a period of time I’ve lengthened the daily time I devote to THINKING. I now look at the challenges for the week, the month, the year and then the rest of my life. All the time writing them down with the word SOLUTION underneath.

I'm on an island in Fiji, at this moment, ‘thinking’ and writing my latest book "365 Marketing Ideas for the Hospitality, Tourism and Travel Industries." See details at ......I begin working on the book around 5.00am each morning in a quite place. The only sounds I can hear are the whispering winds and the weeping waves caressing the shore. It’s idyllic...and great for thinking.

P.S. Funny how successful people come to the same conclusions. Albert Einstein once said “I think and listen for months. Ninety nine times my conclusion is false. But the 100th time I’m right!”
