Business today is a ‘contact’ sport!

“In the 1930’s” wrote Iven Frangi “My Dad had a permanent suite at the Ritz Hotel in London; the Metropole Hotel in Brussels and, what is now, the TAJ Hotel in Bombay. Max, it’s a dream I’ve had to see these hotels and, perhaps, see the suites my Dad called his home in these cities. I’m taking my wife to London next week. Can you help me make my dream come true?”

So, I contacted David Hopcroft, the Hotel Manager from the Shangri La Hotel Sydney. http://www.shangri-la.com/eng/hotel/index.asp I knew he began his hospitality career at the London Hilton. And, hey presto, within twenty four hours he had e-mail contact with Mr Luc Delafosse, the General Manger of The Ritz in London, (http://www.theritzhotel.co.uk/) and Iven’s dream was well on the way to coming true.

I wrote to Mr Delafosse to say ‘Thanks’ and I loved his reply. “In our business, Max, nothing should be too much trouble and I am delighted to arrange the inspection of our hotel for Mr and Mrs Frangi.” (Don’t you just love finding people with this attitude in our industry. No wonder he’s the GM!)
